About

We founded The Hangar Grill Pub out of a deep love for real food, for food that is fresh and authentic.

We strive to make each and every dish a wholesome expression of our love for food, life, and living.

The Hangar Grill Pub was born in August 2022 as an aviation themed restaurant at the corner of Washington Street and Route 8 in La Crosse, Indiana. We offer indoor and outdoor seating, room for families, parties and even crowds.

A love for aviation, family and our local roots inspired our journey.

The Sheely family has deep roots in La Crosse.

Since the roaring twenties the Sheely family have dedicated their lives to providing for the La Crosse community.

Back in the 1950's residents of La Crosse affectionately referred to the town as Sheelyville in honor of the dedication and presence the family had to and within the community. During that era Ken Sheely ran the local grocery store located in the second level of the property while his brother Raymond operated a restaurant on the lower level within the same building. Next door, Ken's Uncle Noah was a cashier at Citizen's Bank.

Furthering the ties within the community, other family members served as the school principal and another as the township trustee.

After 60 years, Ken Sheely was ready to lay down his kitchen tools. In 1983, Ken Sheely sold the store to new owners, ending a the legacy of Sheely family businesses.

See the articles below for reference and insight into how the Seely family shaped and served the La Crosse community.

The family envisions the Hanger Grill as a place people can come together to just hang out and enjoy great food and drinks. The Hangar Grill Pub, offers a down home restaurant experience with the quality food the residents and visitors to La Crosse deserve, but haven't experienced in quite some time.

Our hope is that our commitment to our community sparks a revitalization that all who call La Crosse home can enjoy.
